We are available to facilitate your planning meetings, board meetings, executive retreats or any event that will be more effective with an outside facilitator. Most organizations find that an outside facilitator is able to create an environment that is open and inclusive eliminating or reducing challenges that can exist with an internal facilitator. The outside facilitator can ask questions and probe for information in a non-intimidating or limiting way which helps create open conversations and facilitates discovery.

Open, honest meetings lead to solutions that are developed by balanced participation by all participants with valuable input including a variety of viewpoints resulting in strong buy in from all participants.

Two workshops that are highly effective are:

Developing and Sustaining a High Performance Culture

This workshop starts with a formatting document that is completely blank and requires full participation from the client team to define the culture. This is a facilitated workshop that starts with defining the founder/Leader/s beliefs and then core values as the first step. As the process continues we discuss and identify all the things that are impacted by the leader’s beliefs and core values. Some of these will be things like:

  • Employee handbook
  • Comp and benefit policies
  • Mission
  • Vision
  • Values
  • Corporate goals
  • Transparency
  • Rules and regulations in general
  • Flexibility
  • Communication
  • Workforce development
  • On and on until we have identified all the things that impact how the workforce feels about the workplace. We then move to explore all of these things in whatever detail necessary to flesh them out. This process can be developed over a series of meetings or during an extended workshop.

The effectiveness of this process is critical to everything else. These items that are the workforce facing messages that communicate the beliefs and values of the Leader in written form to the team will greatly impact the engagement level of the workforce and therefore their level of discretionary contribution. The level of engagement and discretionary contribution that is stimulated and maintained will have large impacts on everything including:

From OK to Excellence, 7 Steps to a Productive and Engaged Workforce

This workshop is also tailored to each individual client and is based on the book by the same name. Ideally this workshop will include the founder/CEO and the senior leadership team as a minimum.  During this highly interactive workshop the following topics will be discussed and clarity established and processes developed:

  • Purpose, Mission /Vision Values
  • Strategy and Corporate Goals
  • Goal Setting and Alignment throughout the organization
  • Performance Feedback, timing and mechanisms
  • Recognition, Rewards and Appreciation
  • Tools (The role of the manager, a very big topic)

This workshop, much like the High Performing Culture Workshop can be designed to be completed in one long workshop or over a period of time with participants doing out of workshop work and bringing the results back to the group for discussion.

This workshop will create the tools and process that will support the overall engagement of the workforce.

Leadership Development

We are able to provide leadership development programs that can be customized to meet your needs in terms of content, facilitation and timing. We recommend the inclusion of assessments as part of some of our workshops and we have reviewed the assessment landscape and use two specific assessment that we have found particularly effective.

We sometimes find that clients are not in a position to invest the resources necessary for our workshops or leadership development programs but want help. We are available to speak to teams that want to understand what we offer and perhaps gain access to some of the tools. We are happy to provide this kind of help and provide tools that the leaders of the organization may want to implement on their own based on our presentation. We are also happy to speak, provide some tools and provide limited consulting or coaching in conjunction with the speaking to support a successful and cost effective solution.
